Pandit Pradeep Mishra is a Kathawachak (storyteller) and Hindu preacher from Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. He is associated with Kubreshwar Dham, Madhya Pradesh, one of India’s oldest and most revered Hindu temples.

His programs in which he narrates Hindu spiritual tales are attended by his devotees, who come  in large numbers from different parts of the country.

Mishra is not only proud of his religious and spiritual work but also of his commitment to Hindu Supremacism or Hindutva. He boasts of discussing issues of ‘national interest’ in his programs and continually peddles hate and bigotry under the guise of religious preaching and spirituality.

At his events, he extensively holds discussions on anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and hateful narratives such as ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘dharm parivartan’ (religious conversion). In one of his programs, he can be heard warning Hindu girls of falling prey to Muslim men who he refers to as doosre log (other people).

He said, “doosre body dikha kar tumhe ( addressing Hindu girls) phasane ka prayas karenge, achhe se sun lena, ye doosre log, mai kisi ka naam nahi lunga ishara hi kaafi hai, ye doosre log tumhe bahlange ,phuslaenge, akarshan denge,tumhari buddhi ko badlenge..”

[These other people would flaunt their physiques to impress you, beware of them! beware of these ‘other people’. I don’t take names as my indication is clear and enough, these ‘other people’ will try to impress, lure, attract you, and will try to brainwash you.]

Mishra is among those who yearn to transform India into a Hindu nation. He has even demanded that the constitution of India be changed to incorporate the idea of ‘Hindu Rashtra.’

“India has always been a Hindu Rashtra and shall remain so,” said Mishra on another occasion.

He supports Hindu extremism to the extent that he implored Hindus that at least one member of each Hindu family must join militant groups like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or the Bajrang Dal.

He said, “For the protection of Sanatan Dharma ( Hinduism) and the protection of the nation, one son from each house should either be in Sang or  Bajrang Dal. One son from each house should lead the way for the protection of Dharma and the protection of the nation.”

He even funds these extreme groups that are majorly responsible for violence and atrocities against Muslim and other minorities in the country.

He contributed seven 751,000 rupees to the construction of the RSS office in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. The relationship between Mishra and Hindu extremist organizations is quid pro quo, as the RSS also helps him organize his programs.

His brother was accused of extorting money from shopkeepers for setting up shops outside the Kubreshwar Dham Mandir in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. According to a report, a huge amount was being collected from these shopkeepers for setting up shop outside the Dham. According to the shopkeepers, Pandit Pradeep Mishra’s brother himself takes the rent for allowing them to set up the shops, the report mentions.
