Madhu Purnima Kishwar is a socio-political commentator, academic, and journalist. She has been associated with the University of Delhi, the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, where she directed the Indic Studies Project and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

She has authored many books, including ‘Modi, Muslims, and India; voices from Narendra Modi’s Gujarat 2014’. 

Kishwar is among the top Hindu extremist propagandists who, through their writing and public talks, are aggressively pushing the Hindu extremist agenda into the Indian national discourse.

In the last few years, she has outgrown all her previous vocational titles and has established herself as a Hindu extremist zealot.

Apart from her writings and lectures, she has made her social media appearance more and more anti-Muslim and Islamophobic. Her twitter is filled with hate-mongering and fake information that incessantly vilifies and dehumanizes Muslims. Her YouTube channel propagates similar hate filled venomous content. She has invited and interviewed hate Mongers like Pushpendra Kulshrestha and Kapil Mishra on her platform.

Earlier, she was considered to be a liberal, progressive, and secular scholar. Many view her changed stance and high admiration of Modi, the BJP, and the Hindu extremist narrative as purely ‘opportunistic.’ Whatever it is, the level of toxicity that she spews contributes a lot in the ever-intensifying anti-Muslim environment of the country.

Kishwar believes that Hindus have been fooled and illusioned into believing that India is a secular country and secularism has proved extremely harmful for Hindus. She approves of the idea of Hindu Rashtra and Hindu Supremacy. She considers non-Indic religions and their followers as outsiders who are trying to capture the country and destroy it’s Hindu nature.

She has renamed the conspiracy theory of  ‘Love jihad’ as ‘sex jihad’ or ‘womb jihad’. Her penchant for the bogey of Love Jihad is overwhelming. Espousing the sham of Love jihad she says , ‘Muslims men are trained stud bulls who entice women from other religions for sexual prowess’.

She has advocated that Muslims involved in ‘love jihad’ should have their hands chopped off.

She called the Pulitzer prize-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui a ‘jihadi’. Siddiqui was killed in an attack by the Taliban while reporting from Afghanistan.

To degrade the Muslim community, she comfortably uses the term ‘Jihadi’ for prominent figures and common Muslims. Muslims are “adiyal (headstrong) ziddi (stubborn) and fasiwadi (Fascist”, she says.

In a panel discussion, while justifying violence she said that level of violence is justified as would be proportionate to the ’cause’. She says that Hinduism is not only about peace , ‘this ill-trapping ‘has destroyed the self respect of Hindus’.Hindus need to show their skati (power) to set things right.

She loves spreading fake news that is time again debunked by fact-checkers. Alt news has prepared a dossier of her hateful activities on social media, the list is extremely long. She also produces fake news herself, as and when required, to suit the anti-Muslim agenda . Such fake news are essentially anti muslim or  Islamophobic/ or sexist, racist or all of them religiously shared in WhatsApp groups and reach millions.

Multiple complaints have been filed against her for spreading fake news but she continues sharing them unabated.

She has defended rape convict Hindu cult leader Asaram.

Similarly, she accused Muslims of hatching a conspiracy to defame hate monger and self proclaimed Godman Dhirendra Shastri alias Bageshwar Baba by saying that he has been implicated falsely as he was trying to stop Hindu conversions to Islam .
