Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of parliament (MP) from the West Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency. He is a member of two high-level committees of Parliament, the Finance Committee and the Estimates Committee. He also runs the NGO Rashtriya Swabhiman.
During the anti-citizenship protests in Delhi, Verma gave many hate speeches targeting Muslim protestors.
“Lakhs of people gather there (Shaheen Bagh). People of Delhi will have to think and take a decision. They’ll enter your houses, rape your sisters and daughters, kill them. There’s time today, Modi ji and Amit Shah won’t come to save you tomorrow…” Verma told ANI, a news agency in January 2020

Shaheen Bagh was one of the most prominent protest site led by Muslim women against the discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) across the country.
While campaigning for the Assembly elections, he also made communal remarks, saying all mosques on government land would be razed and Shaheen Bagh would be cleared within an hour if the BJP was voted to power.
“This is not just another election. It is an election to decide the unity of a nation. If the BJP comes to power on February 11, you will not find a single protester within an hour. And within a month, we will not spare a single mosque built on government land,” he said in another interview with NDTV.
“We all know what jihad is. Jihad is to convert all non-Muslims to Muslims. This is what they did in Kashmir. Wherever slogans of jihad will be raised, the outcome will be the same. What happened in Kashmir can happen in Delhi too. And people of Delhi are also aware of it,” Verma said.
His hate speeches played a catalytic role in inciting violence against anti-CAA protestors, culminating in the anti-Muslim pogrom in February 2020 in Delhi. The violence began on February 23 and continued until February 27, leaving at least 53 people dead, mostly Muslims, and injuring another 400. However, the Delhi Police did not file any case against him.
