Rakesh Rajguru is a cow vigilante and regional president of the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal in Rajasthan. Rajguru has gained notoriety for his persistent espousal of Islamophobic sentiments and propagation of Hindu supremacist ideologies.
In June 2022, he shared a Facebook post featuring a video of Rajpurohit Sohan Singh, a Hindu extremist leader, who referred to Muslims as ‘jihadists’ , ‘Islamists’ and ‘dogs’. Singh also alleged, falsely, that at least 45% of Hindu girls in Rajasthan were victims of ‘Love Jihad,’ a Hindu supremacist conspiracy that claims Muslim men seduce Hindu women to convert them to Islam.
During an event organized by the local Bajrang Dal unit in August 2023, Rajguru delivered a speech labeling Muslims as ‘Jihadis’ and ‘intruders,’ promoting the narrative that “Hindus are in danger.” He urged the audience to unite against perceived threats from the Muslim community, warning of an alleged impending Islamic state by the year 2030.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Rajguru is seen delivering a hate filled speech in front of a cheering crowd in which he singled out the Muslim population while promoting the myth of “love jihad.” He asserted that Muslims are on a mission to turn India into an Islamic state by instilling fear in people’s minds and using Hindu women to grow their population.
In August 2023, Rajguru posted a live video on Facebook claiming that a large number of Hindus had been killed in an outbreak of anti-Muslim violence in Haryana state. He also accused local Muslims of plotting to disrupt a scheduled Hindu religious procession.
Rajguru has been associated with other Hindu extremist leaders, including Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati and Parvin Togadia, who have been known for their genocidal rhetoric against Muslims.
