Affiliation: Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha
Vocation/ Title: Hindu Monk
Location: Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh

Swami Chakrapani is a self-proclaimed Hindu saint from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Claiming himself to be the President of Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha, Chakrapani has acquired considerable popularity for his controversial statements and Hindu supremacism. He regularly appears on news channels and exploits his screen time to spread anti-Muslim hatred, propaganda, and bigotry.

During the 2018 floods in the southern state of Kerala, he said that people were punished for eating beef and that he would help them only if the affected people would swear on an affidavit that they won’t eat beef again. Days later, his organization’s website was hacked, and a recipe for ‘spicy beef curry’ was put on it.

During the Covid-19 vaccination drive in 2020, Chakrpani expressed concern over an “international conspiracy to destroy religion by feeding cow’s blood, meat or fat in the name of covid-19 vaccine and medicine” and wrote a letter to the President of India to clarify whether the vaccine contains cow’s blood.

While the scientific community was trying hard to find an antidote to the deadly virus, Chakrpani was totally on a different plane. He believed that the virus was an ‘avatar’ to punish the ‘non-vegetarians.’ He said, “Corona is not a virus, but an avatar for the protection of poor creatures. they have come to give the message of death and punishment to the one who eats them.”

He uniquely registered his anti-vax protest by organizing cow-urine parties. Chakrapani told The Print, “Just like we organize tea parties, we have decided to organise a gaumutra ( cow’s urine) party, wherein we will inform people about what is coronavirus and how, by consuming cow-related products, people can be saved from it.”

“The event will have counters that will provide gaumutra ( cow’s urine) for people to consume. At the same time, we will also put cow products like cow-dung cakes and agarbatti made from that. Upon using these, the virus will die immediately.” he added.

He once attempted to mock Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by calling him a homosexual. He also accused the opposition leader of spreading Covid-19 like Tablighi Jamaat.

Charkrpani wants the national capital- New Delhi to be renamed ‘Indraprastha,’ which is believed to be the city’s old name as per Hindu mythology- Mahabharata. He also advised that the new parliament building be called ‘Hindu Rashtra Bhavan’ ( Hindu Nation Building).

To satiate his appetite for popularity, he even participated in the captive reality show- Lock Upp but was soon eliminated upon failing to grasp show’s dynamics.

He has been calling names to Muslim leaders in India, even to the extent of declaring them anti-nationals and  ‘Pakistanis.’

“There is not much difference between the statements of Hamid Ansari and Owaisi. They are speaking the language of Pakistan. The statements of Hamid Ansari, who has served as Vice President of India, are condemnable,” Chakrpani reacted when these leaders showed concern about rising intolerance regarding minorities in India.
